Bolens Parts and Small Engine Parts

Posted By Justin_mighty On 11:57 AM 0 comments
Is your Bolens gas-powered lawn and garden tool in need of replacement parts for its engine? One of the most common questions about outdoor equipment repair, Bolens included, has to do with replacing gas-powered engine parts.

When it comes to other parts of a Bolens power tool, owners should use the tool's model number to make accurate parts matches. But if the part has to do with the tool's engine, the model number of the engine will be needed to find the right part.

This is because Bolens and other outdoor equipment manufacturers use separately-manufactured small engines in most of their gas-powered products. For example, many of Bolens' lawnmowers, lawn tractors, edgers, tillers, trimmers, snowblowers, and log splitters use Briggs & Stratton small engines in their designs. In their cases, that means Briggs & Stratton replacement parts for any parts related to those engines.
If your Bolens gas-powered tool has a Briggs & Stratton engine, then you're in luck. eReplacementParts.com is a fast and dependable power tool and machine parts service that carries parts for both manufacturers.
For example, this Bolens 13AM762F065 Lawn Tractor (pictured below) might use a Briggs & Stratton brand engine.
If so, a quick search by the model numbers of the engine and tool can take you directly to a detailed parts page, complete with breakdown diagram.

Depending on the Bolens tool type, the tool-specific parts that might need service in the tool's life can vary quite a bit, because design differences between tool types can be drastic. For example, a heavy wear item for a snowblower is its impeller, but for line trimmers, it's often the trimmer head.

Small engines are a different story, because they are very similarly designed between different tool types, and they tend to run in to similar maintenance and repair needs.

Here's a list of some of the most commonly-replaced parts for outdoor equipment gas-powered engines:

  • starter cords
  • spark plugs
  • air filter housings, and
  • oil fill caps
  • fuel caps

Poulan Weed Eater Parts (or is it “Bowl?”). Why Does That Sound Familiar?

If you’ve come across the Poulan name in the world of power tools, then you’re probably well aware of this outdoor power equipment company’s big selection of quality machines.
Poulan gas trimmers are especially well known for their power and dependability. Like this Poulan P2500 Gas Trimmer, with a 25cc engine, 17 inch cutting path and ergonomic design, it’s a well-reviewed favorite among users.
Like all power tools, Poulan weed eaters have certain parts that are designed to wear down, and because the their tools are designed for years of life, that means some minor repairs. A common parts replacement for line trimmers is the clutch. Here’s an article that explains how to remove a line trimmer clutch: How to Remove a Trimmer Clutch.

eReplacementParts.com has an inventory full of OEM Poulan parts, including trimmer parts. Poulan parts are also available on their website for their lines of blowers, electric chainsaws, gas chainsaws, lawn mowers, lawn tractors, pole pruners, and tillers.

Does the Poulan name sound familiar? Well, one reason might be on account of their sponsoring the NCAA college Independence Bowl, Poulan being one of the first sponsor names ever to be used in the name of the bowl. Poulan and Weed Eater are both part of the Husqvarna AB manufacturing group, so in no time, the Independence Bowl was being called the Poulan Weed Eater Bowl. Just a strange little factoid.

Like Poulan, Weed Eater products also have a long history of performance and deserve proper care. Take at look at eReplacementParts.com’s selection of OEM Weed Eater parts and breakdown diagrams while you’re there.

THIS OLD HOUSE MAGAZINE CALLS MAKITA'S NEW LS1216L A "MUST-OWN MITER SAW"

Makita's
Makita has a well-earned reputation for making innovative, high-performance power tools, and its brand-new Model LS1216L Compound Miter Saw is no exception. In fact, this may just be the very best tool of its kind that I've ever seen.
To start, this is a 12-inch dual sliding compound miter saw, meaning that its 12-inch-diameter saw blade rotates left and right for cutting miters, and tilts both left and right for cutting bevels. To execute a compound-angle cut, simply adjust both the miter and bevel settings.
And the saw carriage, which includes the motor and blade, slides on four--not just two--steel rods for increased accuracy and stability.
This professional-duty saw also features a 15-amp motor, laser, dust-collection bag, hold-down clamps and easy-to-adjust sliding fence system.
But where this new Makita saw really shines is in its ability to keep cutting when other miter saws fall short.

The LS1216L boasts the largest cutting capacity of any miter saw in its class. It can crosscut boards up to 15 inches wide, and cut 45-degree miters up to 10 1/2 inches.
And if you plan to use the saw to cut crown molding, Makita's got you covered. This saw can cut 8-inch crown when nested against the fence and saw table, or 6 1/2-inch crown when held flat against the fence.
The miter capacities are pretty impressive, too: 52 degrees to the left and 60 degrees to the right. And, of course, there are positive stops at the most-used miter angles: zero, 15, 22.5, 31.6, and 45 degrees left and right.
The LS1216L retails for $679, but can be found for about $599, and in my opinion, it's worth every penny.
