The 8.8-magnitude earthquake that hit Chile has left parts of the country in a state of despair, but Google is doing its part to help out.
The search engine giant has set up a person-finder site to help those locate people in Chile, similar to what it did after the Haiti earthquake. Dubbed Person Finder, the tool is a searchable database for those who have information about someone, as well as those trying to locate a loved one; you can search the database or submit details if you have information about a person. The site is available in both Spanish and English, and will prove useful and beneficial to many of the folks who are affected in this disaster.
